What average do I need?

Needed = (target × (previous + next hours) − current cumulative × previous hours) ÷ next hours

Target type

The new cumulative and total hours above are used as the starting point.

Grade conversion table

The default table is generic, not official. Check your university's official table and edit it here or save your own.

How it works

  1. Add your courses: name, credit hours (0–6), your grade and the maximum (100, 50, 20, 250, 300, 500 or a custom number). Arabic digits such as ٨٥ work too.
  2. Each course percentage = grade ÷ maximum × 100; the simple average is the mean of the percentages, and the weighted average = Σ(percentage × hours) ÷ Σ hours.
  3. For the 4.0 GPA each percentage becomes a letter and points from the editable conversion table, then GPA = Σ(points × hours) ÷ Σ hours. Pass/Fail courses are excluded.
  4. Enter your previous cumulative and hours to get the new cumulative = (previous × its hours + semester × its hours) ÷ total hours. For a retake, the old hours and points are removed first.
  5. Use the target planner to find the average you need next semester, save several semesters, and export as PNG or PDF or share a link.

Frequently asked questions

Does the conversion table match my university?

The bundled table is generic and unofficial. Each university (e.g. University of Jordan, JUST, Yarmouk, Hashemite, PSUT) has its own; edit the limits and points and save it as a new table in your browser.

What is the difference between weighted and simple averages?

The simple average treats every course equally; the weighted average gives courses with more credit hours more weight, which is what universities usually use.

How is a retaken course handled?

The new grade counts in this semester, and the old attempt's hours and points are subtracted from the previous cumulative so the course is not counted twice. Some universities count both attempts; check your regulations.

Are my grades stored on your server?

No. Everything is calculated and stored in your browser (localStorage). The share link puts the data after # in the URL, a part that is never sent to the server.
