How to extract the fields of an RDLC report

Handy for documenting reports and building mapping tables.

  1. Export the report's RDLC layout from 3omar.hs ERP (Report Layouts → Export), or use an .rdl from Report Builder.
  2. Upload the file and press "Extract fields"; we read every Field element inside each DataSet.
  3. Switch between grouped and A–Z views and search by any word or part of one — search tolerates small typos.
  4. Copy the result as a list of names, a tab-separated table or CSV for your spec or Excel.

Frequently asked questions

What do LBL and FMT mean?

LBL marks a caption field (name ends in _Lbl) that carries label text; FMT marks a format field (ends in Format) that controls number display. Everything else is a data field.

Does it support more than one dataset?

Yes — each dataset appears in its own tab with its own statistics.

Is my file stored?

No. The file is read and deleted immediately; the field list stays only in your session.

Why was my file rejected?

We accept valid .rdlc, .rdl and .xml files up to 10 MB and reject any file that contains a DOCTYPE declaration, for security.
